Zhenya (Yevgeniy) is a boy who is very floppy. He wants to sit on other kids all the time. He is very affectionate in a sensory way. He really needs touch. When he doesn't get it because of his circumstance, he is curling up with other kids. He could really benefit from sensory tools to calm him like weighted blankets or weighted vests. Even regular massage or "joint compression" could help.
He spends so much time feeding this need and without any education or training with a teacher it occupies his whole time. I can see if he were in a family and got these sensory needs met, his need for love and acceptance, and a good educational program, he could be free to learn, grow, and develop. Seeing how he seeks out what he needs, I really do think he could grow a lot when this issue is addressed.
If you are interested in adopting, please read the memo to the potential adoptive parents, guardians, and foster parents; you can also contact Children’s Affairs' service of the Zaporozhia State Administration by telephone (061) 239-01-56.
Other children who dream of finding a family
If for some reason you are currently not able to adopt (for example, you are a student and do not have a family of your own yet) you are still able to help children at a boarding school (an orphanage) with your financial support. Ways you can help include: planning and participating in excursions and trips for children; visiting a child in an orphanage; or helping purchase developmental toys, books, construction sets, and sports equipment.
