The Magic Trunk is a clothes and toys exchange program which has been functioning for 5 years. Kind people bring clothes and toys to our office which we redistribute to those in need.

Thanks to this program, foster families, families with many children, as well as families of refugees from the conflict affected areas of Ukraine have been able to update their wardrobes.

Thank you to everyone who has participated in this program – your efforts have not been in vain. Thanks to your generous donations many people have clothes to wear and many underprivileged children have toys to play with.

Orphanages are not always ready to accept used clothing. Therefore, most of these articles end up with low income families. These families have children who need shoes and clothes which can still be worn.

We will be happy to accept the following

Below is the list of articles which are in high demand with foster and low-income families in our city.

A working computer – more than one family would be happy to get one, but the Tryapitsyn family seem to have the most urgent need.

Furniture – many families need various furniture pieces, for example several families do not have desks for the children to do their homework.

Mobile phone – most of the families cannot afford even the simplest or oldest model; both parents and children would be happy to receive such a wonderful gift.

Toys and books – families which don’t have money to pay for utilities and house repairs unfortunately cannot afford such things as toys and books. You can help by bringing your old toys and books to us – they will bring many hours of joy and happiness to the kids.

Stationary – will be welcomed by both orphanages and low-income families.

Building materials – will be very welcomed by the Kravets family which lives in a house which is constantly being damaged by ground water.

Television set – if you have an old TV, please consider donating it to a low-income family for whom it could become the primary source of entertainment.

Food staples – our Magic Trunk is ready to accept various non-perishable food staples, especially if you can purchase them in bulk at discount prices. This would be of tremendous help to families whose only disposable income is often spent on medicines for sick children.

Vitamins – these are in high demand with our families. As a rule, low-income families have no money to purchase vitamins; as a result, children cannot boost their immune systems and frequently get sick.

Sports shoes and backpacks – every year, hundreds of children from orphanages throughout Ukraine take part in our Fund’s Tourist Programs. On these expeditions the kids, especially boys, frequently lack sports shoes (sizes up to 45) and warm clothing. You can donate your old clothes and shoes or help us buy these articles for a particular group of children. As you know, children’s clothing and shoes have a tendency to become worn out very quickly. And, unfortunately, there are too many kids who do not have proper clothing. In addition, children need backpacks on these expeditions. On one of the recent trips, one of the children showed up with a small suitcase on wheels which cannot be easily dragged through the mountains and forests. We will also accept any available clothing for adults.

Thank you to everyone who is not indifferent to the suffering of others today, and who is able to help in the future!
