For at least 40 years table-tennis is the most popular kind of sport all over the world. You can go in for table tennis without any expensive equipment, in any kind of age and weather.
Today we provide special sport-program for orphanages and boarding schools. Our aim is to place equipment for table tennis in such institutions, because it is the most interesting, active and non-traumatic kind of sport for children. It is not our whim – it is a real necessity of these establishments. There are plenty of vacant sports grounds - and orphanages can’t afford to equip them. As a result – children haven’t got any alternative for loafing about the city, smoking and gathering scrap in the metal junkyards.
We want to give these children an opportunity to spend more time open-air, to communicate with each other by lending mini-tournaments, to be anxious for success in this kind of sport and in there lives.
Now we try to find project sponsors for 8 orphanages in our regions to place there such tables. Certainly, we can’t afford professional tables, so we place hand-made, iron tables, which will be in use for the long, long time. Rough estimate of every table is 3500 hrivnas (777$). We plan to place first 2 tables to the orphanage #3 of Zaporozhye and Kalinovka orphanage till the end of October 2008.
