Myron’s tragedy happened in just a few seconds. While his mother turned away for only a moment, the two-year-old boy climbed onto a chair and pulled a pot of boiling water over himself. The consequences were extremely severe — 35% of his body was burned, including the head, neck, torso, and both arms.
An ambulance urgently took the child to the hospital. Doctors performed emergency cleansing of the affected skin areas to stop further damage and prevent infection. Then temporary biological coverings were applied to protect the wounds and reduce pain. Later, after removing necrotic tissue and stabilizing his condition, Myron underwent two skin graft surgeries using his own skin. A month of intensive treatment became a serious ordeal for the little boy and his family.

After discharge, the rehabilitation stage began. Doctors prescribed the special cream Dermatix Ultra for scar treatment. Initially, the course lasted one month, and after a follow-up examination it was extended for another six months. The cream must be applied twice a day to all damaged areas, especially large scars under the arms. Five packages of the cream are needed per month, costing approximately 6,500 hryvnias.
In addition, Myron needs a compression shirt, which helps the skin heal evenly and prevents the formation of rough scars. Its cost is 4,500 hryvnias.
Myron’s family are internally displaced persons from Donetsk region raising three boys. Due to their difficult financial situation, it is extremely hard for them to provide full treatment for the youngest child. We have already purchased two packages of the cream and ask for your support to buy 15 more packages and the compression shirt. The total amount of needed assistance is 24,000 hryvnias (approximately 570 US dollars).
Your support will help Myron complete the full course of treatment and minimize the consequences of the burns.
