For many years now, «The Magic Box» - has continued its mission—dedicated individuals bring bags of clothes and toys to support our cause.
Foster families, single mothers with many children, and families of displaced persons have managed to update their wardrobes with our help.
A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed during this initiative. Your efforts have not been in vain—thanks to you, many are now clothed, and children facing difficult circumstances have new toys to enjoy.
However, let’s be clear: «The Magic Box» - is not bottomless..
We cannot take everything you have lying around at home that you feel bad about throwing away. Our primary focus is on children’s clothing—that’s what we’re eager to accept first and foremost. But please ensure that the items are in good condition. Speaking as someone from a large family, I know firsthand what it means to wear hand-me-downs. A simple rule: please don’t bring anything that would be embarrassing even to use as a cleaning rag. For instance, someone recently donated baby shirts and pants that were so worn out they looked like they hadn’t been washed in 20 years, stored in a basement, and then brought to us. Children’s homes and shelters are not always ready to accept used items. These donations are primarily for low-income families. Their children are just like yours—they need clothing and shoes that are still wearable.
We gladly welcome donations of the following items:v
A working computer—there’s no shortage of families who would appreciate one. Mobile phones—what might seem like an ordinary gadget to us is unaffordable to others. Even the oldest working model will delight children and parents who can’t afford such luxuries. Toys and books—families struggling to afford housing repairs and utility bills rarely prioritize books or toys. Your contribution could bring immense joy to these children. Stationery supplies for children from low-income, large families, or those in orphanages. Televisions—even older, non-flat-screen models can be a lifeline of entertainment for families who can’t afford more. Food items—our "The Magic Box" can also accept food donations if you’re able to purchase items wholesale for large families, many of whom spend every last penny on their children’s medical needs. Vitamins—these are essential for children in large families. With limited resources, families often can’t afford vitamins or medicines, leaving children vulnerable to illness due to weakened immune systems. Sports shoes and backpacks—each year, hundreds of children in orphanages participate in the foundation’s hiking programs. Yet, many lack suitable footwear—particularly boys with sizes up to 45—and warm clothing. You can donate items directly or help purchase new ones for specific groups of children.
Children’s clothing wears out quickly, and there are many kids without adequate apparel. Backpacks are also crucial for hiking; in one case, a child arrived with a wheeled suitcase—not exactly ideal for trekking through mountains and swamps. Thank you to everyone who remains compassionate toward others’ hardships and capable of helping in the future!
