We share news firsthand. Seryozha Matveychuk at home, and is ready to talk about my condition.
“In general, 2020 was a positive year for me - I did not sow the dangerous bacteria that chronically sits in my lungs and destroys them. In November, I underwent a planned course of treatment and felt quite well until mid-winter.
At the end of January, I began to experience an exacerbation; I began a course of intravenous antibiotic therapy at home. After a couple of days, the oxygen level in the blood dropped to 77%, it became impossible to inhale or exhale. I couldn't get out of bed. So I ended up in intensive care, where I spent 4 days, and then another two weeks I was treated at the Yanovsky Institute.
On the second day after returning home, I again felt bad, the oxygen level dropped critically. They took me to the hospital by ambulance, did an express test for antigen. The result for COVID-19 was positive. I was afraid of this most of all, as I understood that it was almost a sentence.
The hospital could not accept me with a positive test, and I was returned home. For two days, the whole family called hospitals to get me hospitalized. During this time, the saturation did not rise above 75%, I could hardly breathe even with the help of an oxygen concentrator. I didn’t have the strength to eat, I didn’t get out of bed, I could hardly talk.
When a place was found in the Alexander hospital, I was in critical condition. I was immediately hooked up to 14 liters of oxygen, in intensive care I spent 17 of the most terrible days of my life! And so, on April 8, I was discharged. I have defeated the virus! But not its consequences. Now I am completely oxygen dependent. Without a concentrator, blood oxygen saturation drops to 82%. My lungs are affected, and even the doctor does not know if their function will recover. The serious condition also led to the decompensation of diabetes mellitus, which required an increase in the insulin dose by almost five times.
I really hope that I can recover, that I can again lead an active lifestyle, travel, walk down the street. For me, being in an apartment, within 4 walls, is very bad, I have been on the move all my life, and I cannot do otherwise! Now I have a two-month treatment plan, I need the antibiotic "Tobramycin" and hormones. The price of my freedom from an oxygen concentrator is 3260 dollars. That is how much the drugs cost.
I thank all of you for your support, for your help, and just for the fact that you are, that you are worried and worried about me! Thank you for believing in my strength! "
