A Child Needs a Family: Sergey N., born in 2009

November 25, 2014, 20:55 6385 Author: Sonia Koshkina, translated by Oxana Burns www.deti.zp.ua Sergey loves endearment and attention. Profile # 0163815

Upon admission to the orphanage this child was unsociable and reserved. He did not know how to act in different situations, he couldn’t eat by himself. Thanks to his work with personnel the boy became less reserved and acquired a variety of skills, for example, he learned how to eat without assistance. But Sergey still has problems with socializing with other children, he just walks in the room and watches.

The boy became interested in toys. His favorite toys are the ones that make sounds. Sergey is a child with special needs. What he really needs is caring parents who will be able to teach him to perceive the outside world and interact with it.

If you are interested in adopting Sergey, please read the memo to the potential adoptive parents, guardians, and foster parents; you can also contact Children’s Affairs' service of the Zaporozhia State Administration by telephone (061) 239-01-56 and to tell them the number of Sergey's profile accordingly to the orphan list # 0163815.

Other children who dream of finding a family

If for some reason you are currently not able to adopt (for example, you are a student and do not have a family of your own yet) you are still able to help children at a boarding school (an orphanage) with your financial support. Ways you can help include: planning and participating in excursions and trips for children; visiting a child in an orphanage; or helping purchase developmental toys, books, construction sets, and sports equipment.
