The child found a family: Ekaterina T., born in 2002

September 6, 2013, 12:30 4171 Author: Maria Semashkina, translated by Anya Gvozdyeva www.deti.zp.ua New loving parents took Ekaterina into the family

Ekaterina (Katya) is a little meanie. She can come up to anyone and pinch them, whether it's an adult or a child.

Of course, it's merely the way to get some attention. Once she finds someone who would care to give her their attention, she can sit still on their lap for a long time just relaxing. But if you try and walk away from her, she will follow you and try to grab and pinch you and get in physical contact to get some reaction.

As soon as you lead her outside, she becomes a different person altogether. The girl is very calm and relaxed, and if you try to lead her in an unknown direction she will try and walk back home with that cute walk of hers.

This cheeky girl loves company and I have rarely seen her playing with toys. Once it was raining and I was lucky to be in the same group with her, they had more toys than any other group of children. Katya looked enchanted, she stared at a toy as if it was a unique and magical artefact.

Katya likes to bathe, too. She doesn't get to bathe in the bath of the orphanage very often due to the tight schedule, but when she gets a chance, she goes to bed afterwards being very peaceful like an angel. With no sound or an attempt to hurt anyone. Like a little doll.

Energetic and a little monster at times - this young lady doesn't leave anyone untouched due to her restless nature.

If you are interested in adopting, please read the memo to the potential adoptive parents, guardians, and foster parents; you can also contact Children’s Affairs' service of the Zaporozhia State Administration by telephone (061) 239-01-56.

Other children who dream of finding a family

If for some reason you are currently not able to adopt (for example, you are a student and do not have a family of your own yet) you are still able to help children at a boarding school (an orphanage) with your financial support. Ways you can help include: planning and participating in excursions and trips for children; visiting a child in an orphanage; or helping purchase developmental toys, books, construction sets, and sports equipment.
