Oleh and Volodymyr's parents had been waiting for the birth of their twin sons for ten long years. Unfortunately, the boys were born prematurely and with low birth weight. Until their first year, the babies developed without noticeable abnormalities. However, as time passed, the parents noticed that the boys were not attempting to speak and were significantly delayed in their psycho-speech development. After an examination, doctors diagnosed both boys with autism. Later, other issues were discovered: lactase deficiency, scoliosis, and valgus foot deformity. Additionally, Oleh began experiencing epileptic seizures.
Now, the boys are eleven years old. They suffer from reduced attention span, emotional instability, and delayed speech development, which significantly affects their learning. However, each of them has made their own progress. Oleh is mastering the "global reading" method, which helps develop thinking and improve pronunciation. He is already trying to use language for communication. Unlike his brother, Volodymyr does not speak at all, but he has learned to ride a scooter and roller skates. The twins also love swimming. Their parents see their boys as confident and happy in the pool!
Having two children with medical conditions is an enormous burden on the family. Both Oleh and Volodymyr need psycho-speech therapy sessions. Additionally, they constantly require special lactose-free food and medication. Our goal is to help the family raise 50,000 hryvnias (approximately 1,215 US dollars) to purchase medications and lactose-free food for six months.
