Donation income and expenditure report
ATTENTION! AS OF 10/30/2024: The collection is complete! The funds for the necessary surgery have been collected and transferred to the clinic.
Oleksii and Liza were born prematurely. They spent the first two weeks on a ventilator. Liza began to recover shortly after, but Oleksii developed a blood infection and osteomyelitis in his left leg. It took three months to overcome all the infections, and the twins were finally able to go home.
The next challenge came seven months later—Oleksii began vomiting blood. He was rushed into surgery, where his spleen was removed. The diagnosis was severe: portal hypertension. Another operation helped stabilize his condition, but since then, he has had to take medication to support liver function and cleanse his blood.
At the age of eight, Oleksii started limping on his left leg. Doctors suspected it was a consequence of the osteomyelitis he had suffered. Further examinations revealed that his left leg was now 2 centimeters shorter than his right. The doctors recommended a minimally invasive surgery to install a titanium plate, which will temporarily block the growth of the healthy leg. Once both legs are of equal length, the plate will be removed.
The surgery is scheduled for the coming days. Considering the cost of the titanium plate, it will amount to 36,000 hryvnias (approximately 880 USD). We have arranged with the clinic to defer payment until October 31. Please, help support Oleksii!
